When everyone was upset because the Raiders ran out of time against the Broncos, I said "Don't worry. It's only week 1 and the Raiders have a good team." The media has buried the Raiders for 5 years. That not going to change.
In spite of all that, the Raiders showed what they are made of against the Chiefs, last Sunday, by rolling into Kansas City and taking charge. JaMarcus Russell showed the NFL why he was drafted #1 by the Raiders. He showed that, with support, he can do damage to any defense he faces. He now has to learn to be consistent. The receivers showed that they can catch his passes. The running game is a beautiful thing, even if the media does not want to believe it.
The Raider defense proved that they can stop any big play offense, even with too many penalties. They has fewer penalties the in game 1, but still too many. They will improve on that.
This week the Raiders travel to Buffalo to place the Bills. A game I believe they will win returning to Oakland with a 2-1 record. They are currently holding 2nd place in the division ahead of the Chiefs and the Chargers.
Hold on to your hats. The Raiders are going to spoil everyones party. Every team in the NFL thinks they can beat the Raiders, but they are in for a rude awakening. The Raiders are on a roll, the league just does not know it.
In the words of Coach Jim Valvano, "Don't give up, never give up!" Don't worry, I won't.
Raider-Man, out!
