Hi All,
This is my 100th post and it has been fun. I need more of you to visit the site and post your comments via the links in the site. I will see them faster when you do it that way.
Well, preseason week #2 is done and I am REALLY bored. Everyone is in my ear about how great the Raiders look. Did you think they wouldn't? The Raiders are the best kept secret in the NFL. I am still picking them to upset whoever the NFC puts the against in the Superbowl.
QB Jason Campbell is a big-time star at his position. The Redskins would never have released him, if they did not have Donovan McNabb as their starter. They know Jason Campbell deserves to be a starter, but they could not make McNabb a backup. So, when the offer to be a starter with another team came about, they let him take it. Thank goodness it was with the Raiders.
Whenever anyone wants to tell you about how bad the Raiders are or how out of touch Al Davis is or how out-of-control the Raiders players are, just point out the fact that top players always want to play for the Raiders....especially after they talk to Al Davis. You would not have that if the negative were true.
This week, the Raiders will host the 49ers on Saturday at 6pm. This will be a test of the starters as they should get a little more playing time in preparation for the regular season. Expect the second half to be an evaluation of the 2nd, 3rd and Special teams as there is an August 31st cut date.
Watch the game, enjoy the individual play of the team and do not make this a good versus bad thing. Remember, it is only preseason and does not count.
That's it for this week. Until next time,
I am Raider-Man!!!
