Sad News

Sad news came my way last night. Javon Walker was found in the street, beaten, robbed and left unconscious on a street behind the Imperial Palace Hotel/Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is expected to be released from the hospital, today. There are some close simularities between him and a former teammate of his, who is deceased.

First, when Javon was a player with the Denver Broncos, he and other teammates were partying at a Denver nightclub. They were spraying champagne on people in attendance. (I guess that is something that happens at today's nightclubs) This angered, according to Javon, some gang members who happened to be there. A melee insued, also according to Javon. Javon and his teammate left. A car pulled along side the limo they were riding in. shots rang out and one person was hit. A teammate of Javon's who I will not name. (Those who know the story know who it was.) He died in Javon's arms. As the team went to Texas to the funeral, Javon went to Las Vegas, because as he put it "I was afraid for my life." He was released from the Broncos this past off-season and signed a big deal with the Raiders back in February of this year. Enter this past weekend. Javon is visiting Las Vegas Nightclubs carrying large amounts of cash and spraying champagne, according to police. He is found unconscious and robbed of money and jewlery. He will survive, but we have not heard the extent of his injuries. But, it seems he needs to better protect himself. My prayers are with him.

On another note, the Lakers are playing for keeps in a true win-or-go-home NBA finals game. It is game 6 and they are in Boston. Lakers edge...Ray Allen may not have his head 100% in the game. His son took sick in LA on Sunday and Ray had to take a red-eye flight back to Boston, last night. I know his son will be on his mind during the game. It is tough to focus on a game with a family member being sick at the same time. Bostons edge...Lamar Odom was late for the team flight from LA, because he was at a nightclub. His head my not be in the series if you can not make your team appointments on-time. That would be the only thing on my mind, no matter where I was that night. My pick...I said it before. The Lakers will win game 6 and take it Boston with no problem at all. Boy, this Kool-aid sure taste great!

Enjoy the game and please visit my sponsors.

Thanks for your support.
