Hello Fans,
I am back. I never went away, I just had to gather my thoughts on the downfall of the season. It has been said that Big Al is interviewing Head Coaches, but has not fired Tom Cable, yet. My take, he will meet with Cable on Tuesday of next week. (It always happens on Tuesday) He will lay down the Al Davis rule. If Tom Cable argues at any point, he will be fired on the spot. If not, he will stay. Al is just setting him up for a fall.
I think Tom Cable is not ready to be a Head Coach. He mad bad decisions all season. Decisions that cost the Raiders a game after game. The Raiders have the players to truly be an 11 win team, but with Tom Cable at the helm, it will never happen.
For Al Davis, I think the last straw came in the game that Brad Gradkowski went out with an injury, JaMarcus Russell stepped in and drive the Raiders to a come-from-behind win. The Raiders came from 20+ points down and won the game. The next week, Cable benched JaMarcus and the team reverted back to it's troubled ways.
The players are telling the media, they want Cable to stay, but that is only because they (along with all of us) have no clue as to who would replace him. My choice...Willie Brown or Fred Biletnikoff. Nuff Said.....
It's playoff time and my score for week one was 50%. Week two, I went 3 out of 4. This week I have to stick with my guns. I told everyone, in week 17, I thought the Superbowl would be between the Vikings and the Colts. I even made a bet that the Colts would win the AFC title. (A small one, but one bet) I do think this weekends games will be good close games. The Saints are playing at home against the Vikings. Always a tough place to play. That give them the edge over the Vikings, even though the Vikings are favored. The Jets go to the home dome of the Colts. They have a good chance to win that game, even though Payton Manning is tough to beat at home.
My prediction. (I am not telling you to put money on this, but...) The Vikings will win by 2 and the Colts will win by 3.
A diesel attends into the vintage.
I do not like the Pro Bowl being played before the Superbowl. It makes for a boring game due to the fact that the best players will sit out to prepare for the Superbowl. Why play in the All-star game and risk injury when the biggest game of your life is a week later. I think its nice to have it in the same venue as the Superbowl, just have it a week after the Superbowl. I think Hawaii is a good spot for it as it makes it more of a vacation. I do have the perfect solution. One that nobody will entertain. Have the Superbowl and the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas, ever year! Think about it.
With that, I say look for me next week, after the Superbowl teams are set.
As always, The above is my opinion. You don't have to agree with it, just respect it.
I am Raider-man and that is how I see it.
